Projects
Wildflowers Worth Knowing is a design project that reboots a traditional educational book into a fresh, engaging experience for the digital age. The project explores how educational content can be reimagined through modern, innovative touchpoints — including a brand identity, interactive app, printed materials, and seeded paper collateral. Each element is designed to make learning about native wildflowers more accessible, visually engaging, and environmentally conscious, bridging the gap between past knowledge and present-day platforms.
I wanted the audience to feel a renewed sense of connection to nature, and the idea that learning about wildflowers can be both meaningful and modern.

The branding for Wildflowers Worth Knowing draws inspiration from the original book by maintaining its sophisticated typography while introducing a modern, fresh twist. The visual identity was developed around the book’s detailed illustrations, which were reinterpreted with a more abstract and contemporary style to create a unique, eye-catching look. This approach balances respect for the traditional, educational roots with a vibrant, approachable aesthetic, making the brand feel both timeless and relevant. Overall, the branding direction aims to connect nature’s beauty with modern design, inviting a wider audience to engage with and appreciate native wildflowers.
Branding
When designing the touchpoints for Wildflowers Worth Knowing, the goal was to honour the original book’s message and educate people about native wildflowers in new and engaging ways. A recurring monthly postcard was created to encourage continued learning, each featuring a different flower to inspire people to head outdoors and find it in their local environment. Another key touchpoint was a seeded paper design, inviting individuals to take action by planting the featured wildflower themselves. The final and most central touchpoint was an interactive app that reimagines the book for a digital audience. It transforms the act of researching wildflowers into an intuitive, modern experience, mirroring how people engage with information today while staying true to the book’s original intent.
